The last time I played BS was the actual board game so I can only speak for playing this app. I was pleasantly surprised that I actually liked the game a lot!! Particularly multiplayer Commander mode! This was my original rationale when trying out BS because I otherwise enjoyed the other games. With Battleship, it’s 1v1 so that element is removed. Turns out it’s way too easy to cheat on Monopoly/Clue multiplayer because all you need is a 2nd/3rd device joining the same session as you and you already have an advantage against the other players. I bought this as part of the Monopoly/Clue/Life bundle and let me explain why it’s become my favorite. Join us in BATTLESHIP now, and set sail for adventure, battle and glory!īATTLESHIP is a trademark of Hasbro and is used with permission. Take on a world of commanders all battling to have the last fleet standing and prove that you have what it takes to conquer the oceans! Kaku, in fact, is responsible for the standard model of this theory and says that string theory is something that could be the equation that Einstein was looking for. However, this string theory equation isn’t something that has been found yet, even though people like Michio Kaku have been working on it for decades. He was also the first to bring the string theory landscape in the year 2003.Īlbert Einstein spoke of a ‘God equation’ that could explain how the universe works. However, Leonard Susskind is said to be one of the fathers of string theory who introduced the idea that particles could be vibrating filaments along with Holger Bech Nielsen and Yoichiro Nambu. It has a long history since then with numerous physicists that have worked on this theory. This is an area of research that is developing rapidly, but it is mostly a mathematical construct without having made any experimental observations. Physicists in the 1980s realized that string theory could possibly incorporate four forces of nature, that is weak force, strong force, electromagnetism, and gravity, and all types of matter in one quantum mechanical framework, and this could perhaps be the unified field theory. The String Theory PDFs on the site are freely available if you want to do some in-depth research and gain a scientific understanding of how this theory actually works and what it does. Several dimensions to the universe exist but are yet unobservable. This is a theory that attempts to merge quantum physics and general relativity. Since string theory is a work in progress it can be a little difficult to understand what it’s fundamentals are, but below are some of its key features.Īll the objects that exist in the universe are made of membranes (branes) of energy and vibrating filaments (strings). Scientists believe that this is a theory that will explain one of the biggest mysteries of how the universe works, which is how quantum physics and gravity fit together. Here is a more simplified version of the theory that is also known as the ‘theory of everything’ and it includes concepts like extra dimensions, superstrings, and branes. This is a theory that envisions a string undergoing a specific vibration that corresponds with a particle that has properties that are definitive like charge and mass. The name comes from the modeling of the subatomic particles in a manner that shows them as small one-dimensional entities that are ‘stringlike’, instead of the usual approach where they are zero-dimensional. String theory is a particle physics theory that attempts to merge the general theory of relativity of Einstein with quantum mechanics. Because my book is many things: It’s a story of race and medicine, bioethics, science illiteracy, the importance of education and equality and science and so much more. Rebecca Skloot replied that “a parent in Tennessee has confused gynaecology with pornography and is trying to get my book banned from the Knoxville high school system I choose to focus on those stories, and I hope the students of Knoxville will be able to continue to learn about Henrietta and the important lessons her story can teach them. This parent called the scene pornographic, and urged the school system to remove all copies of the book from its shelves. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks: Study Guide Book How to Use This Book This book is to be used alongside the bestselling book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot for anyone interested in learning about one of the most important tools in medicine, vital for developing the polio vaccine, cloning, gene mapping, and more, the HeLa cells. in 2015, a parent in Tennessee took issue with the scene in which Henrietta discovers her cervical cancer ("With the door closed to her children, husband, and cousins, Henrietta slid a finger inside herself and rubbed it across her cervix until she found what she somehow knew she’d find: a hard lump, deep inside, as though someone had lodged a marble just to the left of the opening to her womb" (pg. The description of Henrietta's discovery of her cervical cancer has prompted controversy. These prompts guide students toward an in-depth analysis of the themes and issues central to the story of Henrietta Lacks, and several may promote outside. One critic claims there are factual errors in the number of HeLa cells existing today, but otherwise praises the book for its unflinching look at the injustices involved in Henrietta’s story. The book’s unique structure, and how it weaves together three different narratives (the story of Skloot and Deborah, Henrietta’s youngest daughter, the story of Henrietta and the cells, and the story of Henrietta’s family) also received positive attention and acclaim. Critics and readers alike raved about the book’s compelling subject matter and the questions it raises about medical ethics, race, and the nature of immortality. It remained on the New York Times bestseller list for 75 weeks and occupied the number one spot for a major portion of that time. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks was published to critical acclaim in 2010. The end product of Skloot’s research, interviews, and investigation is the book. The desire to learn about Henrietta resulted in a decade-long research project, one that drew in Henrietta’s family, the institutions who took advantage of Henrietta, and the numerous scientists who used her cells. While the lecturer’s focus was on the scientific achievements and medical breakthroughs Henrietta’s cells facilitated, Skloot was drawn to the woman herself-who was she? Did she know how important her cells were? What about her family? The professor didn’t have any answers for Skloot, and this fueled her interest even further. Skloot first learned about Henrietta when a biology professor passingly mentioned her during a lecture about the importance and impact of the HeLa cell line. However, Henrietta's surviving descendants continue to live in poverty despite their connection to these scientific breakthroughs. These cells, known as the HeLa line, became the cornerstone for scientific research for much of the late 20th century. Lacks, a tobacco farmer from Virginia, died in 1951 from cervical cancer, but not before her cells were harvested without her knowledge or consent for scientific and medical use. Blending the line between nonfiction and narrative, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacksis the story of Henrietta Lacks, her family, and the reporter who sought to uncover her story. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is the first and bestselling book by science journalist Rebecca Skloot. Still kind of mad that they completely fucked over L2, it was fine in NHL 20, but people who were shit at the game complained about being completely dunked on so in the eyes of the EA devs it had to go, Just like when people complained about the one handed tuck being too strong in VS they made it completely useless. The AI is a fucking embarrassment to all AI technology that exists today it makes modes like HUT and VS unplayable at times as you literally have to babysit the AI, You wonder why the optimal HUT strategy is 5-0 TRAP and skill zoning it's because the AI is fucking awful and if you leave it to it's own devices it will fuck you over. Speaking of the soundtrack why are they so afraid of putting songs from any year other than 2021, No Classic songs? what's the fucking deal with that? They actually made a decent soundtrack but I'm about to turn it off because there are couple of annoying songs. but in NHL 22 you can't even disable certain songs, A FEATURE that was literally in NHL 2005. scroll down and find out the complete list of songs in Madden. Madden 22 NFL has come out and like every single game in the series, this time around the game has a pretty amazing tracklist. The Devs after like 4 years still haven't figured out how to make deking work as you still sometimes just randomly lose the puck for having a low deking stat when they could easily just make lower deking stats make your dangles slower. However, BRS Kash’s Oh No is the only track on this list that has been remixed specifically for this game. Passing is somehow even worse then NHL 21 which if you have 2 guys on the same diagonal it always goes to the furthest guy. Poke checks are busted and there is literally no consequence for spamming them unlike NHL 19 were you would be in the box almost immediately if you weren't careful, EA STILL hasn't fixed the glitch that locks the game up for like 10 seconds the game after you score. We’re currently evaluating other locations. We support mobility options such as car sharing so that people don’t need to rely on personal vehicle ownership to get around the city! We’re starting to install dedicated car-share spaces in places that help people access transit and business districts. Seattle has both free-floating car-sharing, allowing drivers to park for free in most any legal parking space in the city (look for free-floating car share permit sticker in the windshield currently, car2go and ReachNow), and some dedicated car share spaces, permitted for a specific operator (currently, Zipcar, car2go, and ReachNow). We don’t anticipate any traffic impacts with this change on Montlake but if this is a location where you park a personal car, you’ll no longer be able to do that. The Montlake location also features a 3-minute passenger load zone for easy drop-off and pick-up whether you’re in a private vehicle or a Lyft or Uber. Once you park, you can walk across the bridge for quick access to the UW Light Rail Station, the IMA, or Husky Stadium, and the UW campus is to the west! In Seattle, so far, that’s vehicles through ReachNow, car2go, or Zipcar (Note that if you’re using Zipcar you can’t end your rental at these spaces). so libraries can "sometimes" be unpackaged on CentOS 5.x into a separate directory and then brought into the mix when invoking Firefox. You can "sometimes" find prebuilt versions of Firefox and it's corresponding packages (XUL - aka. I've done this before but would not recommend running this way. You could always try and compile it yourself on CentOS 5.x targeting this older version of the library. So you're essentially stuck on this older version until Mozilla releases a newer version built with the older libraries support. Version 24 of Firefox will become ESR 24, and this version definitely will not run on CentOS 5.x (according to the testing I've done on 5.9). Mozilla will offer an Extended Support Release (ESR) based on an official release of Firefox for desktop for use by organizations including schools, universities, businesses and others who need extended support for mass deployments. ESR 17 was the last to work on CentOS 5.x so I wouldn't expect to go much further than this one. Firefox ESRsįirefox puts out what they call ESRs (Extended Service Releases) which typically have a wider target audience of distributions that they support. This is typically the case with long term releases. Lower level libraries that Firefox depends on aren't being kept up to later enough versions that the newer versions of Firefox are being compiled against. You cannot run the later versions of Firefox on CentOS 5.x. |
